A note to our readers on 4 January 2016: The data contained in this The New Libya Report article is consider so accurate, thus creditable that The M & G CENTRE FOR INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM, a South African “non-profit company founded to develop investigative journalism in the public interest” used this article as a source with hyperlink to their 28 Aug 2015 article ”The NPA advocate and the ‘grabber.’” The article included Erik Goaied and his connections in South Africa and our article by hyperlink:
“In South Africa, amaBhungane has established, Goaied was able to set up a face-to-face meeting with the state security agency head of operations, Enzo Ismail.
Goaied also includes Lotter and Pooe in his Google+ circle of contacts. Other company directors of Poviwize include one Pieter Willem Becker.
AmaBhungane inquiries about those associated with Poviwize were met with claims that Lotter, but more particularly Becker, had a previous association with Abrahams.”
About US page of The M&G Centre for Investigative Journalism (MGCIJ) notes that:
“The M&G Centre for Investigative Journalism (MGCIJ) is a non-profit company founded to develop investigative journalism in the public interest. We do so by: engaging in the best practice of investigations; transferring investigative skills to other journalists; and helping to secure the information rights investigative journalists need to do their work.

Our 29 January 2015 article, “Erik Goaied’s Google Plus ‘People Circles’ from January 2015: ‘Without Data You’re Just Another Person with an Opinion’
A Modern ‘Rolodex’
A quote by Erik Goaied in January 2015 in his Google Plus account.
‘Without data you’re just another person with an opinion.’ Some have attributed this to “American Management Consultant” W. Edwards Deming and still California State University at Long Beach attribute this quote to “Unknown”. Either way we, like Erik Goaied couldn’t agree more. This is why this op/ed discussion is devoted just to the data.
On the 28 January, Erik Goaied changed his Google Plus account to private. No longer visible are People in Erik’s Circles or People who have Erik in Circles. Before it was made private, we took images. A few hours later it seems the account was deleted entirely. So Google Plus account https://plus.google.com/117794371812319628019/about is no more. Yet, we will provide the information we acquired with images. The Erik Goaied’s Google Plus account that no longer exists. https://plus.google.com/117794371812319628019/about
An Update from the Authors on February 1, 2015. It seems Mr. Goaied’s account mentioned in this article – has been reinstated. Yet, as we are able to provide evidence that at the time of publishing this article, Google noted that its own Google Plus account was a “Not Found” account on the January 29, 2015, we retain the right to display this article as is. Notice in our PDF the same Google Plus ID number reflects the same account: ‘Error 404 (Not Found)!!1’ – plus_google_com_117794371812319628019_about Secondly, please notice The New Libya Report is listed in the current configuration of Mr. Goaied’s “People in his Circles.” We find this very interesting considering Mr. Goaied’s recent unfriendly public tweet to us about this article from a Twitter account now with protected tweets. If we could see that now protected tweet, the tweet URL would be: https://twitter.com/erikgoaied/status/560938236714180609

A 4 January 2016 Conclusion from the Authors about the scandal of FARA #6261 and Libya: Washington Africa Consultancy Group with respect to the 10 November 2014 registration statements for Libya are no longer on the US Government FARA site as of June 2015. In an unusual act for the US Government, noted as “extraordinary” “by an expert on the Foreign Agents Registration Act” – “the records were pulled from the Justice Department’s website entirely, leaving no public record.”
Shane Harris, then of The Daily Beast in his article “Feds Wise Up to Shady Foreign Lobbyist Hunting for Gaddafi Treasure” noted that:
“Joseph Sandler, a lawyer and expert on the Foreign Agents Registration Act, said that he’d never heard of the Justice Department pulling someone’s files because he might not actually be working for a foreign government.
“It’s extraordinary,” Sandler said. Usually, the Justice Department investigates people who are lobbying on behalf of foreign countries but who have failed to register, not the other way around, he said.
“When it comes to the department’s attention in a press story or a complaint, then they’ll look into it,” Sandler added. “They don’t have the resources on their own initiative to monitor compliance with the act.”
Sandler noted that even when an individual or a company stops lobbying for a foreign government, their filings are usually still publicly available. In Goaied’s case, however, the records were pulled from the Justice Department’s website entirely, leaving no public record that he ever claimed to have worked for Libya or that he successfully passed himself off to U.S. officials as a representative of that country’s government.”
We also refer to an earlier article by Shane Harris, the 25 May The Daily Beast article “He’ll Tell You Where to Find Gaddafi’s Missing Billions—If He Gets His Cut” details the official action by Libyan Embassy to the US Government to disavow one of the asset recover teams – Team Erik Goaied & WACG. (Our previous WACG articles: HERE, HERE, HERE). Not only did the Embassy disavow the WACG team, but ALSO the Libyan agency who signed with WACG – The National Board. The Tobruk-linked Embassy’s 15 April repudiation was first documented on Page 146-149 in a 23 February 2015 (AFTER THIS ARTICLE) United Nations Security Council report. Our PDF: UN SC Report on Libya 23 February 2015 N1502120. Excerpts from Mr. Harris’ The Daily Beast article:
“The National Board by its very title would seem to be a valid government group,” Baker Garrari told me, “but this is not correct.” AND
“Garrari said that the National Board “is not a Libyan government agency, and has no authority to make any commitments whatsoever on behalf of [the] Libyan government. The minister of justice of Libya has found the actions of the National Board of Erik Goaied to be fraudulent.”
Considering the events listed above came after this and our other articles, we present the facts from this 29 January 2015 article.

Good morning,
I have attached two more links to be added to your research:

As many that are following the events in Libya and are putting in place documents and time on this matter, I am always interested to help in a better understanding of the actual situation in Libya.
My name is Erik Goaied and I am doing at my small level work for the stabilisation of Libya, therefore North Africa.
What is your agenda?
Mr. Goaied:
We assume that by referring the Le Monde article to us, you are thereby legally endorsing all content and quotes within. You will be held to your endorsement as the articles’ content will surely be the basis of our future articles.
We considered your final comment to us – “What is your agenda?“ Then, we considered your corresponding similarly-worded, now-deleted public tweet to The New Libya Report-which is displayed in this article. For your antagonistic tone to us in both prior comments, we reserve our right for questions and discussions to a later time. We do note that The New Libya Report is no longer within your Google Plus ‘People in Erik’s Circle’. We choose not to be within your ‘Circle’.
As for an answer to your comment “YOUR AGENDA? We note that although you have dual citizenship, to ask the question implies that you have yet to grasp your Swedish traditional relationship between the press and and a businessman who states “I am doing at my small level of work for the stabilisation of Libya, therefore North Africa.” You see, if you assume the limelight, as you have for years, it is our duty as journalists to hold you accountable to your actions, words and previous affiliations.
Take for instance your comment below. The way it is framed, one is left to assume that your ONLY motivation is philanthropic. Yet, without our clarification from our article readers could not know that you will be receiving either “10% of the assets you identify” as you signed with The National Board. OR “TBD (To Be Determined) % of the recovered assets” as you filed with the US Government. Either 10% or To Be Determined, both would indicate your motivation is overwhelmingly financial as you recover the Libyan Assets. I hope you are now able to grasp the intricacies in the relationship between the press and those who claim philanthropic motivations.
Yet, we wish to open your comment up to our readers.*
